Yeap, hardwear(refer the title). No typo. But you're still right, hardware. Anyway, why do I say hardwear? Well, these hardware works as "accessory-like-wears", so its hard + work like accessory-like-wears, so HardWear.

Right, too much crapping. Lets just get straight to the point, shall we.

 

(clears throat) Anyway, on the last lesson which is on 3rd of Febuary 2012 (Friday), CHS Itanium Solutions conducted a series of courses which covers Hardware knowledge which is categorized in our IT Essentials syllabus. Attendance's excellent, as at least 95% of the registered members attended the course.

 

With new protocols, members are required to form a line outside the computer lab and enter one by one with their Gerko Cards submitted. All the members have shown great co-operation, and we hereby thank you for that. Once settled down, our president which was our lesson conductor for Hardware, Samuel Goh K.H started the course by briefing the members some standard protocols, club fees(RM10), club's official website, club's facebook page(for more info, please scroll down to the bottom of the post).

 

We handed out paper notes to the students. The lesson is mainly conducted orally with the assistance of Microsoft PowerPoint and 3 committee members, Brian Goh as Material Assistant/Assistant Conductor, Tan Shi Dong as Computer Control and Chan Weng Cheong as Discipline and Crowd Control.

 

The students paid great attention while the lesson being conducted. The lesson on that day mainly covered Motherboards a.k.a Mobo, a board which houses most of the components that make up a computer, and controls the data flow between components.

Components includes : (at the minimum)

 

  • sockets for micro-processors
  • slots for system main memory
  • a chipset which forms an interface between the CPU's front-side bus, main memory, and peripheral buses
  • non-volatile memory chips (containing the system's BIOS or firmware)
  • clock generator for synchronization
  • slots for expansion cards
  • power connectors (connecting to the power supply)

 

On 1:13PM, students were dismissed, followed by a short 30 seconds brief/reminder of our club's Facebook page, official website.

Howdy, ladies and gentlemen.

Sorry for the late update due to unforeseen circumstances. But anyway, here's the deal. 3rd February 2012 (Friday), what day is it? A holiday? Guess again. An memorial anniversary? Maybe yes but oh come on, its the VERY FIRST LESSON of CHS Itanium Solutions.

 

Details

Time: 12:35PM - 1:10PM (GMT +8)

Venue: Form 1 Computer Lab, Highest Floor of Block C. (The block with the Prefect Room and SBPT room.)

(To those who need help navigating, please seek assistance from any teachers or students, you are recommended to ask the prefects.)

Course: IT Essentials - Hardware Courses.

Conductor: Samuel Goh K.H (along with a few assistants)

 

The knowledge the leads to great power, ladies and gentlemen, awaits tomorrow. Step forth to claim what you've deserved. Right, lets cut the serious mood, but right now, this particular reminder is extremely important, PLEASE, remember to bring your GERKO cards (green card) along when you attend this event. Please be punctual and avoid arriving after 12:45PM.

Howdy, ladies and gentlemen.


One more step forward, into the future. This Friday(20 JAN 2012) is the Orientation Day of CHS Itanium Solutions. All members who had registered yourselves on Gerko Day, please present yourselves along with a notepad, a pen/pencil and your Gerko Card (the green card). The time is at 12:30PM to 1:10PM, time is not sufficient. Therefore, we sincerely request for everyone's co-operation to be punctual and please follow our directives.

 

Summarized Details:

Time: 12:30PM - 1:10PM (GMT +8)

Venue: Form 1 Computer Lab, highest floor of Block C (Block C is the block that has the Prefect Room and SBPT room)

Howdy, ladies and gentlemen.

CHS Itanium Solutions officially announce that we're recruiting new members for the year of 2012. Tomorrow is Co-curriculum day at Catholic High. Please step forth to our booth located in Dewan Brother Phillipe Wu to obtain further information.

 

Our staffs will be manning the booth for Itanium Solutions, if you're interested in joining the club, please do refer to any of our staffs at the booth. Our staffs will be wearing the black 'Itanium Solutions' tees.

 

Please refer to the plan at the Co-curriculum notice board to locate our booth. The Co-Curriculum notice board is beside the entrance of Senior Assistant of Co-Curriculum's office.
